Lawn Tips

One of the first tasks of spring lawn care is raking. Not only does it help with the leaves, but it also helps to remove unwanted thatch. Excessive thatch buildup clogs the soil surface. A thatch buildup 1/2" is considered excessive.

If your lawn is subjected to high levels of traffic year after year it may eventually show signs of decline. In such cases your lawn is probably suffering from soil compaction.

Lawn aeration is the remedy for soil compaction. Aeration loosens up the soil allowing for water and air to  enter the soil. Most experts agree that fall season is the ideal time for aeration.
